Union Minister Raosaheb Patil Danve to Inaugurate New EMU Local Train Connecting Lonavala and Shivaji Nagar

In a significant development aimed at improving rail connectivity, Raosaheb Patil Danve, Union Minister of State for Railways, Coal, and Mines, Government of India, will inaugurate a new Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) local train between Lonavala and Shivaji Nagar. The minister will also be initiating stoppages for two crucial express trains, contributing to the region’s enhanced rail infrastructure.

The inauguration and stoppage initiation ceremony is scheduled to take place at Lonavala Railway Station through video conferencing at 2:30 pm on January 31, 2024. During the event, Raosaheb Patil Danve will flag off the new EMU local train, marking a significant step towards providing efficient and convenient transportation options for commuters between Lonavala and Shivaji Nagar.

Additionally, the Union Minister will facilitate the initiation of stoppages for Train No. 22157/22158 CSMT – Chennai Egmore – CSMT Express at Lonavala Railway Station and Train No. 11019/11020 CSMT – Bhubaneshwar – CSMT Konark Express at Karjat Railway Station. These stoppages are expected to improve connectivity and convenience for passengers traveling on these express routes.

Shrirang Barne, Member of Parliament from Maval, will also be part of the occasion through video conferencing, adding to the significance of the rail connectivity improvements in the region.
