Mahi Mayur Gandhi, a second-year engineering student at MIT College and a resident of Manikbaug, was commuting to her college with her friend, Mandar Nanavati, when tragedy struck. It was at this moment that a PMPML bus, traveling at speed, ran over Mahi, resulting in fatal injuries.

Mandar Nanavati, the injured companion, is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The gravity of the situation prompted the filing of a case against the PMPML driver at the Kothrud police station, underlining the severity of the incident and the need for accountability.
