Tragic Killing Shocks Pune: School Student Fatally Stabbed on Panshet Road

In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the city, a school student was brutally stabbed to death in Anandvan Society at Manerwadi on Panshet Road, near the iconic Sinhagad Fort. The incident, which occurred on Monday around 5 pm, has left the community reeling in disbelief.

The victim, identified as Prakash Harisingh Rajput, aged 15 and a resident of Ra Anandavan Society in Manerwadi, was found lifeless at his home. Upon receiving information about the gruesome crime, a team from the Haveli police swiftly arrived at the scene. However, the motive behind the murder and the identity of the assailants remain unknown at this time.

Prakash, a ninth-standard student at Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya in Khanapur, had a normal day at school before the tragedy unfolded. Reports suggest that he had been involved in a scuffle with fellow students earlier in the day. Returning home around half-past ten in the morning, Prakash found himself alone as his parents were at work and his brother was away for his 10th examination.

The assailants, armed with sickles and other sharp weapons, attacked Prakash while he was sleeping in his house located in the farm area of Anand Society. Despite attempting to flee for his life, Prakash collapsed after running a hundred feet from his home.

Authorities including Sub Divisional Police Officer Bhausaheb Dhole Patil, Police Inspector Sachin Wangde, and Enforcement Officers Santosh Todkar and Santosh Bhapkar, along with other law enforcement personnel, swiftly responded to the scene. Described as a calm and hardworking individual, Prakash had been supporting his family by working part-time in a local hotel.

As investigations continue into this senseless act of violence, the community mourns the untimely loss of a promising young life.
