A heart-wrenching and tragic incident unfolded in the Santnagar area of Lohegaon, Pune, as a fatal stabbing shocked the community. The alleged motive behind this heinous act is said to be suspicions regarding the wife’s character, leading to the arrest of the husband by the Vimantal police.
The victim has been identified as Rupali, also known as Babita Ashish Bhosale, a 35-year-old resident of Santnagar, Lohegaon.
The accused in this distressing incident is Ashish Sunil Bhosale, a 32-year-old resident of Santnagar, Lohegaon. A formal complaint has been filed by Swapnil Balasaheb Khandve at the Vimantal police station.
The Bhosale couple had been residing in a rented room in the Santnagar area of Lohegaon. Tragically, over the past several months, their relationship had deteriorated due to alleged harassment by Ashish, driven by suspicions about his wife’s character. The situation escalated dramatically into a heated argument between the couple, during which Ashish allegedly resorted to violence and fatally stabbed his wife, Rupali, using a kitchen knife.
Upon receiving news of the incident, concerned neighbors promptly contacted the police. Rupali was immediately transported to the hospital, but tragically, she succumbed to her injuries before receiving medical treatment.
Senior police officers, including DCP (Zone 4) Shashikant Borate, ACP Sanjay Patil, and Senior Police Inspector Vilas Sonde, visited the crime scene. In response to the tragic event, the police swiftly arrested the accused, Ashish. Assistant Police Inspector Sanjay Dhamane is now overseeing the ongoing investigation into this harrowing case.
