Tragic Demise: Dhankawadi Woman Takes Drastic Step Following Unrelenting Neighbourly Dispute

Suicide In Pimpri

Pune: A woman from the Dhankawadi area took her own life by hanging herself after getting fed up with the constant quarrel with her neighbour. This disturbing incident took place on Thursday, November 16, in the Balajinagar area of Dhankwadi. In this regard, police took the accused, Arif Mulla, into custody.

The 40-year-old woman, Kavita Sanjay Srivastava, is the name of the deceased woman. In this case, her husband, Sanjay Shamlal Srivastava (age 45), has filed a complaint (G. Reg. No. 292/23) at Sahakarnagar Police Station.

As per the police complaint, Srivastava and Arif Mulla live next door to each other on the third floor of the Swami Vivekananda Prerna Building in Balajinagar, Dhankawdi. However, their relationship was marked by continuous, ongoing disputes, whether over minor grievances or more significant issues.

In light of these persistent disputes, numerous complaints had been lodged by both parties at the Sahakarnagar police station, prompting previous preventive measures by police authorities, none of which proved successful.

Meanwhile, another quarrel with a neighbour in the midst of Diwali ended the patience of Kavita, who decided to take her own life on Thursday by hanging herself in her house at around 8 p.m. In this case, the police have registered a case against Mulla for abetting suicide. Police sub-inspector Priya Rajguru is investigating further.
