Pune, 3rd August 2023: A devastating accident occurred near Borghat Police Chowki on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway earlier today, resulting in the death of one person and leaving two others injured. The incident, which happened around 5:30 am, caused a disruption in the traffic movement towards Mumbai for over three hours.
According to the police, a truck driver collided with another truck from behind while heading towards Mumbai. The impact of the collision caused the truck carrying glasses to overturn, blocking the first lane of the expressway. As a result, three individuals, including the driver and two passengers, suffered severe injuries. They were promptly rushed to the Trauma Care Hospital for immediate medical attention.
Sadly, the driver, identified as Sadanad Patil (43), succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the hospital. The two other injured individuals are still under medical care. The accident led to a complete standstill in the traffic flow towards Mumbai from 5:30 am to 8:30 am, and authorities had to divert vehicles to the old Pune-Mumbai Highway to manage the situation. The collision caused the glasses to scatter all over the road, adding to the complexity of the accident scene.
