Tragedy Strikes in Pune: ACP, His Wife, and Nephew Found Dead in Baner Residence, Police Suspect Suicide

Pune, 24th July 2023: The city of Pune was left in shock and disbelief as a distressing incident unfolded in the Baner area. An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) associated with the Amravati police was found dead at his residence, along with his wife and nephew. The police have reason to believe that the ACP first took the lives of his wife and nephew before ending his own life using a private revolver.

The heart-wrenching incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday. The deceased ACP has been identified as Bharat Shekha Gaikwad, aged 57, who was stationed in Amravati. He was on leave and had come to Pune on Saturday to spend time with his family. The tragic events are suspected to have unfolded around 3 am on Sunday.

The other victims in this devastating case are the ACP’s wife, Moni Gaikwad, aged 44, and his nephew, Dipak Gaikwad, aged 34. While Gaikwad served as the ACP for the Rajapeth division in Amravati, his wife and nephew were residents of Pune.

Upon discovering the tragic scene, the Pune Police promptly initiated investigations. So far, no suicide note has been found, leaving the authorities perplexed about the motive behind the heartrending incident. The bodies of the deceased have been recovered, and the police are diligently working to uncover the truth behind this tragic event.
