Pune: In a significant development concerning the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) ring road project, compensation rates have been determined for 32 villages along the western route and four out of 48 villages along the eastern route. The remaining villages are set to undergo final price determination by July 20, as per instructions from Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh. Re-evaluation of both the western and eastern regions has been carried out to ensure fair compensation.
The project, undertaken by the Roads Corporation, aims to alleviate traffic congestion in the cities of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad through the construction of a 172-kilometer, 110-meter wide ring road. The western route will impact 2,404 locals across 32 villages in Maval, Mulshi, Bhor, and Haveli talukas, covering an area of 697 hectares. On the other hand, the eastern route will affect 177 locals across four villages in Bhor taluka, spanning an area of 105 hectares. The process of issuing notices to these affected individuals will commence within a week.
The MSRDC ring road project is a significant infrastructure endeavor that seeks to improve connectivity and address the growing traffic woes in the region. The compensation rates for the affected villages play a crucial role in ensuring that the project progresses smoothly while safeguarding the interests of the local communities.
The project is divided into two parts, namely the East and West segments. The proposed plan includes the involvement of 11 villages from Maval taluka, 12 from Khed taluka, 15 from Haveli taluka, five from Purandar, and three from Bhor on the eastern route. Meanwhile, the western route is expected to impact five villages in Bhor taluka, 11 in Haveli taluka, 15 in Mulshi taluka, and six in Maval taluka.
The estimated cost of the MSRDC ring road project stands at approximately 26,800 crores. With compensation rates being finalized for the affected villages, the project can proceed to the next phase. This comprehensive transportation initiative holds the potential to alleviate traffic congestion, enhance connectivity, and stimulate economic development in the region.
