Traffic Disruption Ahead: 2-Hour Block on Mumbai-Pune Expressway for Gantry Installation

Mumbai and Pune commuters are advised to plan their journeys carefully as the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is set to conduct gantry installation work on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The crucial work is scheduled for January 23, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, leading to a two-hour block at specific locations.

The installation work will take place at km 24.250 on the Mumbai lane and km 56.900 (Kusgaon Wadi) on the Pune lane under the Highway Traffic Management System on Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway. During this period, traffic diversions will be enforced to ensure the safety and efficiency of the ongoing work.

Traffic Diversions:

  1. Pune to Mumbai (Light Vehicles):
    • Diversion point: km 55.000 on the Mumbai lane.
    • Route: Redirected through National Highway No. 48 (Old Pune-Mumbai Highway).
  2. Pune to Mumbai (Light Vehicles and Buses):
    • Reroute: From Khopoli exit at km 39.800.
    • Path: National Highway No. 48 through the Old Pune-Mumbai Highway to Khopoli city, then to the Mumbai lane via the Shedung toll plaza.
  3. Pune to Mumbai (Light and Heavy Vehicles):
    • Route: Khalapur toll plaza.
    • Path: Last lane from Khalapur exit at km 32.500 on National Highway No. 48, passing through Khopoli town, and reaching the Mumbai lane via the Shedung toll plaza.
  4. Mumbai to Pune (All Vehicle Types):
    • Diversion: Kusgaon toll gate at km 54.900.
    • Redirect: National Highway No. 48 (Old Pune-Mumbai Highway) toward the Pune side.

Commuters are urged to follow the designated diversions, and relevant authorities will be present to guide and manage the traffic flow during the specified block period.
