Traffic Changes Announced by Pune Traffic Police as Sadhu Vaswani Bridge Faces Demolition

In light of the impending demolition of the Sadhu Vaswani Bridge in Pune, the Pune Traffic Police have released a set of traffic changes and guidelines to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the Bund Garden and Koregaon Park areas. The Sadhu Vaswani Bridge is slated for demolition, and the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is set to construct a new bridge, prompting potential traffic congestion in certain areas.

To proactively manage traffic and minimize disruptions, the following changes will be in effect from 10/1/2024 until further notice:

  • One-way road from Parnkuti Chowk to Blue Diamond Chowk to Moboj Chowk.
  • One-way road from Moboj Chowk to Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk (Bund Garden Road).
  • One-way road from Alankar Chowk to IB Chowk to Circuit House Chowk to Mor Odha Chowk.
  • One-way road from Mor Odha Chowk to Council Hall Chowk.

All types of heavy, bulky, multi-axle vehicles, except essential service vehicles, are prohibited for 24 hours on the mentioned routes.

Additional Changes:

  • Kahun Road Junction to Tarapur Road Junction will remain a one-way road.
  • Council Hall Chowk to Sadhu Vaswani Putala is being made one way.

Alternate Routes:

  • Vehicles going to Mor Odha Chowk from Nagar Road: Follow the designated route via Parnakuti Chowk, Mahatma Gandhi Chowk, Blue Diamond Chowk, Moboj Chowk, and more.
  • Vehicles going to Mor Odha Chowk Koregaon Park: Utilize the route from Mor Odha Chowk, Council Hall Chowk, Mangaldas Chowk, and Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk.

The Pune traffic police have urged citizens to adhere to the provided traffic changes and alternate routes to ensure a hassle-free commute during the Sadhu Vaswani Bridge demolition period.
