As the countdown to the New Year begins, Pune’s iconic Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir area anticipates an influx of visitors. In preparation for the celebratory atmosphere, Traffic Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vijaykumar Magar has issued a traffic advisory outlining temporary changes around the Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir vicinity.
Traffic Changes Effective from January 1, 2024:
- Closed Route: The road leading towards Swargate from Shivaji Road is closed.
- Alternate Route: Vehicles advised to turn from SG Barve Chowk towards Jangali Maharaj (JM) Road – Khanduji Baba Chowk – Tilak Chowk – Tilak Road.
- Closed Route: The road going towards Pune Municipal Corporation’s main building from SG Barve Chowk.
- Alternate Route: Vehicles should proceed to JM Road, turn left from Jhansi Rani Laxmibai Chowk, and continue to their destination.
- Closed Route: The road going to Budhwar Chowk from Appa Balwant Chowk (ABC Chowk) is closed.
- Alternate Route: Vehicles should use Bajirao Road to reach their intended destinations.
- Closed Route: The road to Daruwala Bridge from Shivaji Road – Jijamata Chowk – Ganesh Road is closed.
- Alternate Route: Vehicles should turn left from Kumbharves Chowk – Pawale Chowk – Old Sat Toti Police Chowki.
- Closed Route: The road to go to Jijamata Chowk from Ganesh Road – Devjibaba is closed.
- Alternate Route: Vehicle drivers should go from Apollo Theatre – Narpatgiri Chowk – Daruwala Bridge – Dudhbhatti.
Important Note: These changes exclude emergency vehicles such as fire brigade, police vehicles, and ambulances. Citizens are urged to cooperate, utilize alternate routes, and plan their travel accordingly during the specified period to ensure a hassle-free celebration and smooth traffic movement in the area.
