Traffic Advisory: Heavy Vehicles Prohibited on Pune Roads for Ganeshotsava

In anticipation of the grand Ganesh festival celebrations in Pune, the city’s traffic police department has taken proactive measures to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize congestion. As part of their traffic management strategy, the Pune City police have issued an advisory to restrict the movement of heavy vehicles on several crucial routes within the city during the festival period.

The ban on heavy vehicles will be enforced round the clock from September 16 until the conclusion of the Ganesh festival, including the last immersion day. This decision has been made to prevent traffic jams and ensure the safety and convenience of commuters and festival-goers.

List of Routes Where Heavy Vehicle Movement is Restricted:

  1. Laxmi Road – Sant Kambir Chowk to Alka Chowk
  2. Kelkar Road – Phutka Buruj to Alka Chowk
  3. Tilak Road – Tilak Road Chowk to Alka Chowk
  4. Shastri Road – Senadutta Chowky to Alka Chowk
  5. Karve Road – Nal Stop Chowk to Khandojo Baba Chowk
  6. FC Road – Khandoji Baba Chowk to Dir Chafekar Chowk
  7. JM Road – S G Barve Chowk to Khandoji Baba Chowk
  8. Shivaji Road – Gadgil Statue to Jedhe Chowk

The traffic police department has strongly urged citizens to take note of these changes in traffic regulations and advised commuters to consider alternative routes during this period. By implementing this heavy vehicle ban, the authorities aim to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and provide a hassle-free and safe environment for everyone celebrating Ganeshotsava in Pune.
