Toll Collection Commences on Baramati to Patas Road as it Attains National Highway Status

In a significant development, toll collection has been initiated on the Baramati to Patas Road near Undwadi, starting February 21, 2024. The road has recently attained National Highway status, marking the beginning of toll operations to support infrastructure maintenance and development.

Fare Structure for Different Vehicle Types:

The toll rates for various vehicle categories have been established to ensure fair and transparent toll collection. The one-way fare for small vehicles, including cars and jeeps, is set at Rs 65. Larger vehicles, such as LCVs, LGVs, minibuses, will be charged Rs 110. Three-axle commercial vehicles are subject to a toll of Rs 250, while four and six-axle vehicles will pay Rs 360. Heavy vehicles with seven or more axles are required to pay Rs 260.

Additional Facilities and Discounts:

To facilitate ease of travel, commercial vehicles registered in the district (excluding national license holders) will be eligible for a 50% discount at toll booths when service roads or alternate routes are unavailable. This discount is applicable only for vehicles equipped with valid FASTags.

Moreover, commuters can opt for a pass option covering a 20-kilometer stretch from the toll plaza. Those returning within twenty-four hours of toll payment will receive a 25% discount on all vehicle types. Additionally, vehicles making 50 one-way trips within a month from the toll payment date will benefit from a 33% reduction in the total toll amount.

Special Consideration for Dual Toll Plazas:

Notably, there is another toll plaza a few kilometers away on the same route. However, a special permission has been granted for toll collection at both plazas. Commuters using these two routes, specifically on the Pune to Solapur and Patas to Indapur National Highways, will be subject to paying toll twice. The condition of distance will not be applicable in this case.

As the toll collection system is set in motion, commuters are urged to adhere to the established fare structure and take advantage of the applicable discounts for a seamless travel experience.
