In a celebration of sportsmanship and skill, the first edition of the PYC Basketball League 2024 is set to showcase the prowess of 100 players across sixteen teams. Organized by PYC Hindu Gymkhana, the tournament will take place at the PYC Basketball Court from January 19th to 21st, 2024.
Abhishek Tamhane, the Basketball Secretary of PYC Hindu Gymkhana, announced the participation of 16 teams, including 10 Men’s Teams, 3 Women’s Teams, and 3 Kids Teams. The selected players, all club members, form the roster of these diverse teams, each vying for victory in their respective categories.
The Men’s Group comprises teams such as Kara Intellect Warriors, Abhis Lakers, Rathis Mavericks, Kaps Rockets, Spectrum Kings, Bulls, Wadeshwar Wizards, PYC Hawks, ATX Blazers, and Posh Raptors. In the Women’s Group, participants include Aces, Sparks, and Mercury, while the Kids Group features Heat, Celtics, and Knicks.
The tournament promises an exciting showcase of talent, with each team comprising six skilled players. The winning team in each category will be awarded a prestigious trophy.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament, a dedicated committee has been formed, consisting of Organizing Secretary Abhishek Tamhane, Suvarna Limaye, Karna Mehta, and Shireen Limaye.
As the competition tips off on January 19, 2024, PYC Hindu Gymkhana anticipates three days of thrilling basketball action, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition among participants and spectators alike.
