Theft of Laptop and Drone Shakes Zila Parishad School in Pune: Police Launch Investigation

In a troubling incident that has raised concerns over the security of educational institutions, a laptop and a drone were reported stolen from the science lab of a Zila Parishad School in Pune. The incident, which transpired between September 4 and 5, has prompted the Pimpri Chinchwad Police to swing into action as they work diligently to apprehend the culprit responsible for this act.

The Zila Parishad School in question is located in the serene village of Mauje Ambethan within the district. The stolen items, a laptop and a drone, are valued at approximately Rs 21,700. According to the official complaint lodged with the local police, the unidentified individual behind the theft forcefully gained access to the school’s science lab by breaking open its door.

The discovery of the theft occurred when school officials arrived at the premises the following morning. Upon inspection, they found that the lock to the science lab had been tampered with, and valuable equipment was conspicuously absent. In response to this unfortunate turn of events, the school promptly contacted the police and registered a formal complaint.

To address this incident, the Mahalunge MIDC Police Station in Pimpri Chinchwad has filed a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), specifically sections 454 (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking), 457 (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night), and 380 (theft). These legal actions aim to initiate a thorough investigation into the matter, with the ultimate goal of identifying and bringing the responsible party to justice.

As of now, the investigation is actively underway, with law enforcement officials diligently pursuing leads and conducting inquiries to unearth clues that may lead to the recovery of the stolen items and the apprehension of the suspect.
