Pune : As the Pune Metro project progresses between Shivajinagar and Hinjawadi Phase 3, a crucial phase of the work will necessitate the temporary closure of Baner Road. The stretch from Someshwar Wadi Phata to Mahabaleshwar Hotel Baner will be closed for four days, starting from August 12th to August 15th, 2023.
The temporary closure aims to facilitate the seamless advancement of the metro project, which in turn will require certain PMPML bus routes to be temporarily modified.
According to the Chief Transport Manager (Operations) of the PMPML, bus routes 114, 208, 256, 258, and 360 will undergo temporary changes due to the road closure. Buses following these routes that are bound for Baner will be rerouted during this period.
To adapt to the temporary changes, the buses will now turn right at Banerphata Chowk and subsequently make a left turn at Sarja Hotel. The revised route will then proceed through Aundh ITI and Parihar Chowk before taking a right turn at DP Road at Ambedkar Chowk. A left turn at Medi Point Hospital will guide the buses along Link Road. After a left turn at the square, the buses will return to their regular route from Baner Bus Stand to Kapil Malhar Square.
Importantly, this temporary route alteration is set to be in effect only until August 15th, 2023. Starting from August 16th, 2023, all bus routes are scheduled to revert to their normal operations, ensuring passengers’ convenience along these routes.
The temporary road closure and bus route modifications, though causing momentary inconvenience, underline the city’s dedication to infrastructural growth and the enhancement of public transportation through projects like the Pune Metro.
