Technical Glitch on Platform 6: Non-Functional Display Board at Pune Station Sparks Passenger Confusion

Passengers using Platform 6 at Pune Railway Station have been grappling with confusion and delays since February 22, 2024, as the display board on the platform remains non-functional. This technical glitch has left commuters uncertain about their designated platforms, impacting their travel schedules.

The issue came to light when a social media user highlighted the malfunctioning indicators on the New Foot Over Bridge (FOB) and TV displays on Platform 6, causing inconvenience for passengers trying to determine their boarding locations.

Railway Public Relations Officer (PRO), Ram Paul Barpagga, provided clarification, stating that construction work for a Cover Over Platform (COP) is currently underway on Platform 6. This construction involves the installation of a cover, a feature previously absent on the platform. As a safety measure, display boards in the vicinity have been temporarily shut down to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of both workers and passengers.

Barpagga mentioned that the construction work may continue for a few days, during which the affected displays will remain offline. In light of this, cooperation from the public is requested. Additional display units are available on the platform, and commuters are encouraged to use them in case of uncertainty regarding their departure platform.
