Technical Glitch Brings Mumbai Route to a Halt; Deccan Queen, Pragati Express Among Stranded Trains

A technical glitch in the Over Head Equipment (OHE) between Begdewadi and Talegaon railway stations disrupted railway operations on the Mumbai route, causing inconvenience to passengers and leading to significant delays on Wednesday morning. The resolution of the technical issue took approximately an hour, affecting trains heading towards Lonavala.

The OHE malfunction resulted in several trains experiencing prolonged halts, with passengers enduring hours of inconvenience. Train number 12124 Deccan Queen, en route from Pune Junction to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, was stationary at Shelarwadi Railway Station from 8:00 am to 9:00 am. Similarly, train number 12126, Pragati Express, bound for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, faced a 45-minute halt at Dehu Road railway station. Additionally, 12220, Secunderabad Mumbai LTT AC Duronto Express, had a 20-minute stoppage at Khadki station. The local train to Lonavala, number 01560, encountered a halt at Chinchwad railway station lasting about half an hour.

The technical issue was promptly addressed by railway authorities, and normal operations resumed after the hour-long delay. Railway officials have apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers and are investigating the root cause of the OHE malfunction to prevent such incidents in the future.

Commuters and passengers affected by the disruption are advised to check for real-time updates on train schedules and plan their journeys accordingly. The railway authorities have also assured passengers that necessary measures are being taken to avoid a recurrence of similar technical glitches.
