Symbiosis University Welcomes Dr. Ramakrishnan Raman as New Vice Chancellor

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has ushered in a new era with the appointment of Dr. Ramakrishnan Raman as its Vice Chancellor. Dr. Raman assumes this prestigious role following the retirement of Dr. Rajani Gupte, who served two consecutive terms as Vice Chancellor.

Dr. Raman brings to the table over two decades of diverse experience spanning the corporate, academic, and research sectors. His educational journey includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering, an MBA specializing in Systems and Marketing, and a Doctoral Degree in Management from Pune University. Notably, Dr. Raman has a longstanding association with Symbiosis, having dedicated more than a decade to various roles within the institution. His roles have encompassed positions such as Professor & Director at the Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology and the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management–Pune, in addition to stints as Dean of the Faculty of Management and Director of Strategy & Development.

One of Dr. Raman’s key contributions has been in facilitating international collaborations for Symbiosis, forging meaningful partnerships with educational institutions in Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. His extensive research portfolio spans fields such as Information Systems, IT Strategy, Entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data, earning him recognition in global academic circles.

In his new role as Vice Chancellor of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Dr. Ramakrishnan Raman is poised to leverage his wealth of expertise and international perspective to elevate the student experience and drive innovation in higher education.
