Supriya Sule Accuses BJP of Using Sunetra Pawar Nomination to Undermine Sharad Pawar

Baramati MP Alleges Political Conspiracy Behind Rival’s Candidacy in Lok Sabha Elections

In a sharp rebuttal against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Baramati Member of Parliament Supriya Sule has accused the ruling party of orchestrating a political strategy to weaken Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar by fielding Sunetra Pawar, her sister-in-law and wife of Ajit Pawar, in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing the media, Sule emphasized that the BJP’s decision to nominate Sunetra Pawar against her in the Baramati constituency is part of a larger conspiracy aimed at undermining Sharad Pawar’s influence in Maharashtra politics. She highlighted BJP leaders’ remarks during their visit to Baramati, where they expressed their intention to end Sharad Pawar’s political career.

Expressing familial ties with Sunetra Pawar, Sule described her as a mother figure and emphasized the cultural significance of their relationship. She lamented the BJP’s attempt to fracture the Pawar family for political gain, alleging that the ruling party lacks a viable candidate to contest from Baramati.

Sunetra Pawar, the official candidate of the Mahayuti coalition, has already commenced campaigning in Baramati, setting the stage for a contentious electoral battle in the constituency.

Sule further criticized the BJP’s divisive tactics, accusing the party of instigating conflict among Marathi individuals for its own benefit. She condemned the BJP’s approach as an attack on Maharashtra’s pride orchestrated from Delhi.

Asserting that her fight is against the BJP’s misguided policies rather than individuals, Sule highlighted pressing issues such as inflation, unemployment, and corruption plaguing the nation. She underscored the water crisis in the Baramati constituency and rural areas across the state as urgent challenges that require attention.

In response to Sule’s remarks, BJP chief spokesperson for Maharashtra, Keshav Upadhyay, challenged her decision to contest from Baramati while claiming to respect her sister-in-law like a mother. He questioned Sule’s track record in addressing development issues in her constituency, reiterating the BJP’s commitment to fostering development and progress.
