State Tourism Department Plans Special Tours for Ganesh Pandals in Pune and Mumbai

The Directorate of Tourism Department of the state government is all set to offer a unique experience to visitors during the upcoming Ganesh festivals in Pune and Mumbai. The department has announced its plan to organize special tours for people interested in exploring the vibrant and artistic Ganesh pandals that are an integral part of Maharashtra’s cultural heritage. This initiative, which is being conducted for the second consecutive year, received a positive response from participants last year.

The special tour aims to provide participants with an opportunity to witness the beauty, creativity, and religious fervor associated with Ganesh pandals in two major cities of Maharashtra. The tour is designed to cover six prominent Ganesh pandals in both Pune and Mumbai, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere and explore the historical significance of these pandals.

In Pune, the tour itinerary includes visits to some of the most renowned Ganesh pandals, such as Kasba Ganpati, Tambdi Jogeshwari, Tulsi Baug, Guruji Talim, Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati, and Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati. These pandals are not only artistically decorated but also hold immense cultural importance in the Ganesh festival celebrations in Pune.

The Directorate of Tourism Department has meticulously organized the tours to ensure a delightful experience for participants. Two batches of tours will be conducted daily, accommodating a maximum of 20 individuals in each group. To provide the participants with comfortable transportation, PMPML’s AC buses will be used for the tours.

For Indian nationals, the fare for the tour will be Rs 300, while foreigners can avail the experience for Rs 700. This fare includes guided visits to the selected pandals, transportation, and an opportunity to witness the grandeur of the Ganesh festival celebrations.

It’s worth noting that the success of a similar initiative last year led to the addition of extra buses to accommodate the high demand from tourists. The tourism department is dedicated to ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants. Additionally, special arrangements will be made for groups interested in starting the tour from specific locations within the cities.

By organizing these special tours, the Directorate of Tourism Department aims to promote cultural exploration and provide visitors with an enriching experience during the festive season. It’s a fantastic opportunity for both locals and tourists to witness the art, spirituality, and community spirit that define the Ganesh festival in Maharashtra.
