Solemn Moments at NDA: Cadet’s Passing Due to Boxing Injury

In a solemn announcement, the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla has shared the heartbreaking news of the passing of Squadron Cadet Captain Pratham Mahale. The young cadet, hailing from Maharashtra, lost his life due to a head injury sustained during an Inter Squadron Boxing Competition. This tragic incident unfolded on October 16, and despite immediate medical attention, Cadet Captain Pratham Mahale breathed his last at 5 a.m. on October 18 at the Command Hospital in Pune.

Pratham Mahale had embarked on his journey at the NDA on April 18, 2021, as part of the 145th Course. During the boxing event, he encountered a severe head injury leading to internal bleeding. Although surgical measures were taken to control the bleeding, the cadet could not be revived.

A poignant moment marked the National Defence Academy as it paid its respects to Cadet Captain Pratham Mahale. Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar, the Commandant of the National Defence Academy, laid a wreath on behalf of the institution, offering full military honors to honor the fallen cadet.

The NDA community has come together to extend its deepest condolences to the grieving family of Pratham Mahale during this profoundly challenging time.
