Social Media Battleground: BJP and Congress Activate War Rooms for Pune Lok Sabha Seat

Rival political parties gear up for digital warfare to sway voters and dominate the social media space.

As the Lok Sabha elections draw near, the political landscape in Pune is witnessing a digital revolution, with major parties like the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress ramping up their social media presence to engage with voters and amplify their campaign messages.

In the race for the Pune Lok Sabha seat, BJP has nominated Murlidhar Mohol as its candidate, while the Congress party has put forward Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ravindra Dhangekar as its contender.

Both parties have established dedicated social media war rooms in Pune, aimed at accelerating their election campaigns and effectively communicating their agendas to the electorate.

The BJP has taken the initiative by setting up two war rooms with distinct objectives. One focuses on party organization, while the other is specifically dedicated to the Pune Lok Sabha constituency. These war rooms serve as nerve centers for coordinating campaign activities, leveraging platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to connect with voters and gauge their sentiments.

Rajesh Pande, Vice President of BJP Maharashtra, emphasized the significance of these war rooms in mobilizing party workers and disseminating information about government development schemes to the electorate.

Meanwhile, the Congress has also established a robust social media presence, with a dedicated war room at Congress Bhavan. Utilizing platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, the party is engaging with voters and highlighting key issues such as unemployment, inflation, corruption, and infrastructure deficiencies in Pune.

Mohan Joshi, Senior Congress leader and head of the Pune Lok Sabha constituency campaign committee, outlined the party’s strategy of connecting with voters through various social media channels and specialized groups targeting different demographics.

As the battle for Pune’s Lok Sabha seat intensifies, the digital battleground promises to play a pivotal role in shaping public opinion and influencing electoral outcomes.
