Sinhagad Road Flyover Nearing Completion, Expected to Open by December 2024

The Sinhagad Road flyover, a long-standing construction project, is making progress, with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) stating that 65% of the work is completed. An anonymous PMC official revealed that efforts are being made to accelerate the construction, and the flyover is anticipated to be ready for inauguration by either July 2024 or, at the latest, December 2024.

The two-and-a-half-kilometer flyover project, spanning between Rajaram Bridge Chowk and Fun Time Theatre, commenced on September 21, 2021. The completion deadline was initially set for September 2025, but the PMC is working towards an earlier completion. As of now, pillar construction between Goyal Ganga Chowk and Vitthalwadi Chowk has been finished, and girder placement is in progress.

The final stages of the flyover work at Rajaram Bridge Chowk are underway, including the construction of ramps on both sides. The overall completion of the flyover stands at more than 65%, with efforts directed at meeting the revised deadlines.

In a related development, the Ghorpadi flyover, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion caused by two railway lines passing through Ghorpadi village to Miraj and Solapur, is set to open by the end of March 2024. With minor works remaining on the Solapur railway line flyover, Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar confirmed the impending opening to traffic.
