Data from the Forest Department reveals a notable spike in visitors, with the influx starting post-Bhaubeej day and reaching its peak on Diwali Padwa. On November 8 and 9, approximately 700–750 people explored the fort, but this number soared to a staggering 7,500 on Diwali Padwa. The festive fervor continued, with over 4,000 visitors thronging the fort on the subsequent Friday and Saturday.
Geographical Diversity: Visitors from Near and Far
During the holiday season, Sinhagad Fort drew visitors from neighboring districts such as Mumbai, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, Ahmednagar, and Solapur. The fort’s magnetic appeal transcended geographical boundaries, attracting a diverse crowd eager to immerse themselves in its historical grandeur.
Traffic Jams and Parking Challenges
The surge in tourist numbers presented logistical challenges, forcing travelers to park their cars along the ghat section road and walk to the fort. Over the week, more than 10,000 people explored the fort, contributing to daily traffic jams along the ghat section.
Security Measures During the Festive Rush

Security officers refrained from taking vacation time during the holiday season to ensure the safety and well-being of the influx of tourists.
