In a promising development for the residents of Pune and devotees of Lord Shiva, the Pune city Shiv Sena Party has recently announced the construction of a magnificent temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This sacred edifice is set to grace the landscape of NIBM-Cloud 9 Road, becoming a beacon of spiritual solace and architectural splendor. The initiative holds more than just religious significance; it aims to provide ease of access to the pristine Anandvan Forest, Pune’s First Urban Forest, and alleviate the ongoing roadwork challenges in the area.
Over the past several months, commuters and pedestrians alike have faced a persistent obstacle on one side of the NIBM-Cloud 9 Road. The incomplete roadwork has not only posed potential threats to the safety of those navigating this route but has also been a hindrance to the regular visitors of the Anandvan Forest area.
Pramod, also known as Nana Bhangire, the Shiv Sena Pune President and former Corporator of the NIBM Road – Mohammadwadi, shared insights about this commendable initiative. He stated, “We had a comprehensive meeting regarding the creation of a Lord Shiva Temple as well as the creation of a designated entranceway to the Anandvan Urban Forest Area. The meeting was held at 12 pm in the NIBM area on Monday.”
Bhupesh Sharma, representing the Anandvan Foundation, elaborated on the plans. He mentioned, “Pramod aka Nana Bhangire, Shiv Sena Pune District Chief, and Subodh Shah, a builder, announced the commencement of Lord Shiva temple on private land opposite the Arc Society on NIBM – Cloud Nine Road. For several months, the main entrance near Cloud Nine Society has been blocked due to ongoing PMC roadwork. Hence, along with the construction of Lord Shiva Temple here, a hassle-free entranceway will be created for Anandvan Forest area after which the nearby residents and other people will get easy access to Pune’s First Urban Forest Anandvan. An elongated slope structure will be done.”
Bhangire further added that the foundation stone has already been laid for the construction of the Lord Shiva Temple, signaling the imminent commencement of this remarkable project.
