Sharad Pawar is supreme in Baramati: Shrinivas Pawar

Pune: NCP (SP) candidate and sitting MP Supriya Sule won with a huge margin in the Lok Sabha election from the Baramati seat. It was the first general election after a vertical split in the party. Sule was pitted against her sister-in-law and DyCM Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra Pawar.

Ajit Pawar’s brother Shrinivas Pawar campaigned against him in the election. Shrinivas Pawar has commented on the outcome of the poll in Baramati.

Supriya Sule defeated Sunetra Pawar with a big margin yesterday. This has given rise to discussions that Ajit Pawar would come back to join Sharad Pawar. Speaking to a news channel, Shrinivas Pawar said, “Sharad Pawar, Supriya Sule and Jayant Patil will decide whether they want to welcome Ajit Pawar back in their fold. We felt bad when his candidate was defeated. I discussed this with Supriya. After all, he is my elder brother. We respect him. We questioned some of his decisions. But he did not listen to us.”

He said, “It has now been proved that Sharad Pawar is supreme in Baramati. Baramatikars made a point that though Supriya was married off to Sadanand Sule, she still belongs to Baramati. They gave her a winning margin of 1.53 lakh votes.”
