Pune, 1st July 2023: The tragic bus accident that occurred on the Hindu Hridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Samruddhi Expressway has claimed the lives of several individuals, with seven of the deceased hailing from Pune. The district collector of Buldhana has released an official list confirming the names of the victims from Pune who lost their lives in the accident.
The victims from Pune are identified as Vrushali Vankar, Shobha Vankar, Owi Vankar, Kailas Gangawane, Kanchan Gangawane, Sai Gangawane, and Rajashree Gandole. The local authorities faced challenges in identifying the victims as their bodies were charred in the fire that broke out after the accident. However, after thorough investigation and confirmation of the passengers’ identities, the official list was released.
According to officials, the accident occurred when the bus overturned due to a tire burst, resulting in the explosion of the diesel tank. The subsequent fire engulfed the bus, leading to a devastating tragedy. Only eight individuals, including the driver, managed to escape by breaking the window glass of the bus. Currently, three people remain in critical condition and are receiving treatment at the hospital.
