Under the astute guidance of Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumaarr and Joint Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, the police force has executed pre-emptive actions against approximately 13,000 individuals with suspicious backgrounds through recent combing operations.
Plainclothes Police and Crime Branch Involvement
To combat mobile phone theft, gold chain theft, and incidents of molestation, plainclothes police officers from the crime branch have been strategically positioned. Assistant Commissioners Sunil Tambe and Satish Govekar of the Crime Branch oversee the units and squads responsible for monitoring criminal and theft-related activities.
CCTV Surveillance and Traffic Control
A robust network of 205 CCTV cameras has been strategically placed along major procession routes. The CCTV control rooms, situated at the Police Commissionerate and Vishram Bagh Police Station, will maintain vigilant oversight of suspect movements. The traffic branch will also leverage its CCTV control room to monitor procession routes, deploying 13 Sub-Inspectors, 33 Assistant Inspectors, 775 police personnel, and 300 wardens and volunteers.
