Pune : Champ Endurance is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated Season 3 of the Punit Balan Group Apla Pune Cyclothon, powered by Finolex Pipes and Fittings. This premier cycling event is scheduled to take place from 4 am to 10 am on March 17, captivating cycling enthusiasts at the prestigious Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Mahalunge, Balewadi.
The meticulously planned route promises to traverse iconic and scenic parts of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, including Baner, Balewadi, Aundh, and more. The event aims not only to inspire participants but also to encourage local residents to embrace cycling as a healthy and eco-friendly lifestyle choice.
In the previous edition, the cyclothon garnered an overwhelming response, witnessing the registration of 6,000 participants from diverse backgrounds, including cycling groups from across Maharashtra. This year, the organizers have introduced new elements to enhance the experience, making it accessible to individuals of varying skill levels and interests.
The event features two main categories: the Elite Race, managed under the Cycling Association of Maharashtra and Cycling Federation of India, includes a challenging 60km course for men and a 30km course for women cyclists. The Amateur Cyclist Ride, open to enthusiasts of all levels, offers multiple distances, including 10km (Joy Ride), 25km, 50km, and 100km. The use of chip technology will ensure accurate and fair results. The total prize pool for the event is Rs 10 lakh, accompanied by additional gift hampers and sponsor gifts, highlighting support and encouragement for the cycling community.
