In an exciting development, Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge shared the latest progress report on the construction of the grand temple dedicated to Sant Tukaram Maharaj at Bhandara Dongar in Dehu. With 40% of the project completed, the temple is on track to become a striking urban-style landmark, expected to reach its full glory by 2025.

The temple’s dimensions are nothing short of impressive, spanning 179 feet in length, 87 feet in height, and 193 feet in width. Landge offered a glimpse into the temple’s unique design, highlighting features such as three major and 17 minor ‘kalash’ (pitcher pots), intricate carvings adorning the walls and ceiling, and revered idols of Vitthal-Rukmini and Sant Tukaram Maharaj. The spacious circumambulatory path will showcase 2,200 carved idols on its outer pillars, creating a truly awe-inspiring experience for visitors.

The temple’s design also includes a Shringar Chowk and an outer area featuring a Nandurki tree, contributing to its architectural elegance. Bansi Paharpur pink sandstone and white stone have been selected as construction materials, adding to the overall grandeur of the structure.

Mahesh Landge disclosed the estimated project cost, ranging from ₹200 to 225 crore, emphasizing the active financial participation of devotees in supporting the temple’s construction efforts.

Earlier this year, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the site, expressing unwavering commitment to the creation of this magnificent temple. He pledged to address any obstacles hindering its construction, underscoring the collaborative effort to bring Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s grand temple to fruition.
