Rotary Club of Pune Baner Leads Successful Pulse Polio Drive, Vaccinates 11,705 Children

In a commendable display of community involvement and healthcare advocacy, the Rotary Club of Pune Baner, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Education and Business Management (IIEBM), organized a highly successful Pulse Polio drive on the recent National Immunization Day for Polio. The initiative witnessed active participation from various stakeholders, resulting in the vaccination of 11,705 children, marking a significant stride towards eradicating polio from the region.

Led by esteemed medical professionals and supported by dedicated volunteers, the Pulse Polio drive saw the active involvement of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) doctors, including Dr. Ganesh Damale and Dr. Maya Lohar, along with their respective teams. Under the guidance of Dr. Bhagwan Pawar, Chief Medical Officer of PMC, and Dr. Rajesh Dighe, Assistant Immunization Officer, the campaign was meticulously conducted, ensuring the effective administration of polio vaccines to infants across the region.

Expressing gratitude for the collaborative effort, Rtn Jignessh Karria, President of the Rotary Club of Pune Baner, acknowledged the support received from Assistant Commissioner of Aundh Baner Ward, Mr. Girish Dapkekar, in coordinating with PMC medical teams. He emphasized the pivotal role played by PMC authorities in facilitating the smooth execution of the polio vaccination campaign, underscoring the importance of community partnerships in public health initiatives.

The involvement of 350 students from the Institute of Education and Business Management (IIEBM) College added to the campaign’s success, highlighting the significance of youth engagement in promoting public health awareness. Dr. Jai Singh Marwaha, Managing Director of IIEBM, along with Dean Dr. Poonam Nikam and faculty members Dr. Vishal Bhole, Sandeep Kanse, and Chandrakala Rai, actively participated in the program, further amplifying its impact.
