Residents of Sinhagad Road’s Sun Enclave Demand Action as Garbage Dumping Plagues Society

Residents of Sun Enclave society, located in the Anand Nagar area of Sinhagad Road, Pune, are expressing frustration and concern over the ongoing issue of garbage and debris dumping near their residential area. The situation has prompted residents to demand swift action from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to address the environmental and health hazards.

Aditya Kudale, a resident of Sun Enclave, highlighted the increasing problem, stating that the dumping spot has become a magnet for garbage and construction debris. He expressed dismay at the lack of action from the PMC despite multiple complaints from residents. The area, situated close to Mutha River, has reportedly become a common dumping ground for various types of waste.

Amol Khare, another resident, stressed the need for strict monitoring and vigilance from authorities to curb the dumping issue. He pointed out that the presence of garbage not only harms the environment but also attracts people who mistakenly view the area as a suitable spot for various activities, including bio breaks. Khare urged for a permanent solution to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the surroundings.

Vyankatesh Kumbhare, echoing the sentiments of fellow residents, expressed disappointment in the lack of concrete measures from the PMC despite a year of persistent dumping. He called for proactive and sustainable solutions to address the environmental degradation caused by the dumping spot.

In response to the residents’ concerns, Sandip Khalate, Assistant Municipal Commissioner at PMC Sinhagad Road Ward Office, assured that PMC officers would inspect the site and take appropriate action to resolve the issue.
