Residents of Kalwad Wasti Demand Action Against Rampant Garbage Dumping Near Pune Airport

Persistent Issue of Waste Disposal Plagues Neighborhood, Prompting Urgent Calls for Municipal Intervention

The tranquil residential enclave of Kalwad Wasti, nestled behind Pune airport, finds itself embroiled in a relentless battle against a mounting garbage crisis, triggering distress among residents who endure the repercussions of unbridled waste disposal. As heaps of refuse accumulate, accompanied by a pervasive stench and a swarm of flies, the community raises its voice in a plea for immediate redressal from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

Residents bemoan the untenable conditions they face daily, grappling with the offensive odor and unwelcome pests invading their homes. Despite lodging numerous complaints with the PMC, the situation remains unchanged, leaving residents disillusioned with the lack of decisive action.

The gravity of the situation amplifies with each passing day, posing significant health risks and impeding the residents’ quality of life. Even as residents persist in their efforts to engage local authorities, the specter of garbage continues to loom large, casting a shadow over the tranquility of Kalwad Wasti.

The issue of waste mismanagement extends beyond Kalwad Wasti, resonating with neighboring areas such as Vimannagar, where similar concerns have been voiced repeatedly. The accumulation of untreated waste near Joggers Park Lane has raised alarm bells, underscoring the urgent need for comprehensive waste management measures.

In response to mounting pressure, Somnath Bankar, Assistant Municipal Commissioner of PMC Nagar Road Vadgaon Sheri Ward Office, has pledged to investigate the matter and initiate appropriate measures. However, residents remain cautiously optimistic, awaiting tangible outcomes to alleviate their plight.

As the clamor for action grows louder, residents remain steadfast in their resolve to reclaim their neighborhood from the grip of unaddressed waste disposal woes, underscoring the imperative of swift and decisive intervention by municipal authorities.
