Railway Renaissance: Central Railway Successfully Doubles Daund-Manmad Route

In a significant stride towards enhancing railway infrastructure, the Central Railway (CR) has successfully completed the doubling work of the Belvandi-Visapur Section on the Daund-Manmad route. The completion of this crucial section, spanning 14.03 km, marks a substantial milestone for the railway network.

According to the Central Railways, the completion of the Belvandi-Visapur section’s 14.03 km doubling work was achieved on November 9, 2023. Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS) Manoj Arora provided the necessary safety certification after conducting a thorough safety inspection. Vivek Kumar Gupta, Chief Administrative Officer Construction, and DRM/Solapur Neeraj Kumar Dohare were also present during the inspection.

A successful speed trial, reaching 123 kmph, was conducted between the Belvandi-Visapur section, signifying the operational readiness of the newly established double line.

In the current fiscal year from April 2023 to date, the Central Railways has accomplished 161.80 km of multitracking, encompassing new lines, doubling, and the addition of 3rd and 4th lines across its five divisions.

  • Completed Doubling: 134.31 km (56.76%)
  • Cost: Rs 2081.27 Crs
  • Expenditure till date: Rs 1572.28 Crs
  • Overall Physical Progress: 67%

  • Earthwork: 116.87/162.04 lakh cum (72%)
  • Blanketing: 2.4/4.0 Cum (62%)
  • Major Bridges: 11/28 (39%)
  • Minor Bridges/Road Under Bridges: 100/117 (86%)
  • New Station Buildings: 11/21 (52%)
  • Track Linking: 154/290 track km (53%)
  • OHE (Overhead Equipment) Foundations: 2400/6000 (40%)
  • OHE Mast Erection: 2000/4800 (42%)
  • OHE Wiring: 150/290 track km (52%)
  • Signalling New Electronic Interlocking: 6/22 stations (27%)
  • Signalling Indoor & Outdoor Works: 16/36 (44%)

The completion of the Daund-Manmad section’s doubling is expected to enhance train mobility, reduce crossing detention time, and alleviate congestion in the section, thereby optimizing railway operations.
