In a significant achievement for the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), three sub-centers in the Shivaji Nagar division under Pune Parimandal have simultaneously achieved the prestigious ‘ISO 9001:2015’ certification. This accomplishment marks a remarkable milestone, as it is the first time in the state that three sub-centers have earned this coveted certification simultaneously.

The certification ceremony, graced by the presence of Rajendra Pawar, Mahavitaran Chief Engineer, and Nandkishor Deshmukh, an ‘ISO’ auditor and examiner, saw the respective sub-centers being honored with the ‘ISO’ rating.

Mr. Pawar, highlighting the vital role of sub-centers in ensuring smooth and high-quality power supply, stated, “Quality and efficiency of substations are crucial for uninterrupted and superior power supply. Continuous supervision and measures are taken to maintain these standards. It is a matter of pride that three sub-centers have simultaneously received ISO 9001:2015 certification. This achievement reflects the dedicated preparations made to deliver seamless and high-quality service to electricity consumers.”

The substations and switching stations operated by Mahavitaran play a pivotal role in delivering uninterrupted and high-quality power supply services to consumers across all categories. Under the visionary guidance of Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar, these sub-centers embarked on a journey of modernization and improvement.

Among the sub-centers that achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification, the Sus Road 22/22/11 KV substation in Shivajinagar division (Ganeshkhind sub-division), and the Mohan Nagar and Amar Paradigm 22/22 KV switching stations (Aundh sub-division) were recognized for their commitment to excellence.

The journey to ISO certification involved a comprehensive assessment of various aspects, including the quality of sub-centers, the quality of work, availability of security measures and equipment, meticulous documentation, provision of medical facilities, and aesthetic enhancements.

An ISO 9001:2015 team conducted a thorough evaluation of these three sub-centers, inspecting as many as 27 terms and conditions as per the ISO standards. Impressively, all three sub-centers met the stringent criteria, earning the prestigious ISO rating.

The path to ISO certification was a result of relentless dedication and teamwork. Under the guidance of Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar, the entire team, including Executive Engineer Sanjeev Rathore, Additional Executive Engineers Vishwas Bhosale and Sachin Patil, Assistant Engineers Ramesh Sul and Ganesh Shrikhande, and dedicated technicians like Balasaheb Khilare, Shubhangi Shirole, Sachin Kamble, Mahesh Sutar, and Hanumant Shingte, worked tirelessly to meet the rigorous standards set by ISO 9001:2015.

This achievement underscores MSEDCL’s commitment to delivering top-notch power services to the people of Pune and Maharashtra and sets a benchmark for quality and efficiency in the power distribution sector.
