Purandar’s Plea: MLA Sanjay Jagtap Demands Basic Facilities for Merged Villages

In a bid to address the longstanding issues faced by residents in the merged villages under the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Sanjay Jagtap, the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the Purandar constituency, has issued a compelling appeal to the State government. The plea urges swift action to provide essential services such as water supply, drainage, cleanliness, and fair property tax assessments.

The Purandar constituency, home to 15 of the 34 merged villages, grapples with a stark lack of infrastructure despite residents contributing significantly through property taxes. The absence of fundamental amenities, including reliable water supply and efficient drainage systems, not only impacts the quality of life for residents but also poses potential health hazards.

Jagtap’s call to action sheds light on the glaring disparity between the taxes paid by villagers and the services they receive. Despite being in affluent areas, numerous residents find themselves compelled to rely on water tankers for their daily needs. This highlights the urgent need for comprehensive and immediate solutions to rectify these persisting issues. Surprisingly, none of the local civic authorities in the region have undertaken the responsibility of providing these crucial services to the citizens.

The MLA’s appeal comes as a rallying cry for the residents of Purandar, urging the state and local authorities to prioritize their welfare and address the infrastructural gaps that have persisted for far too long.
