Purandar Airport: Deputy CM Fadnavis Envisions Pune as India’s Next Growth Engine

In a significant announcement, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed the crucial role of Purandar Airport in propelling Pune into becoming the next growth engine of India. Speaking at an event organized by the Maharashtra State Marathi Journalists Association, Fadnavis emphasized the importance of a new airport for Pune’s rapid development.

Fadnavis asserted that the construction of an airport in Purandar is essential for Pune to realize its potential as a key growth center in the country. He envisioned Pune surpassing Mumbai’s prominence if the Purandar Airport becomes a reality. The Deputy CM addressed citizens’ concerns, assuring that those who have contributed land for the airport would experience prosperity.

Highlighting Pune’s potential to accommodate new-age industries, Fadnavis outlined the city’s significance as a growth engine for the nation over the next two decades. To support this vision, priority development projects like the Ring Road are underway. The establishment of Purandar Airport is seen as a catalyst for Pune’s economic and infrastructural transformation.

During the event, Fadnavis also discussed plans to provide discounts on interest for home loans, aiming to facilitate affordable housing for journalists. Recognizing the increasing number and diversity of media professionals, he stressed the importance of stability in their lives and encouraged initiatives like the journalist housing project.

The attendees, including Commissioner of Pune Metropolitan Area Development Authority Rahul Mahiwal and Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Shekhar Singh, echoed the sentiments of Deputy CM Fadnavis and discussed the imperative role Purandar Airport plays in Pune’s future growth.
