Pune’s Young Innovators Shine: 500 Government School Students Unveil 100 Inventive Solutions at Makers Factory

In a remarkable showcase of innovation and problem-solving, more than 500 students and 100 educators from government schools in Pune district gathered at the Makers Factory to present 100 inventive prototype solutions. The event, dedicated to nurturing the creativity of the next generation, was inaugurated by Kurush Irani, CSR Head of Bajaj Finserv, Dr. Manorama Aware from Samagra Shiksha PMC, and Dr. Jyoti Shinde, IT Head, SCERT Pune.

Among the impressive array of solutions, standouts included the Transgate Access Control system for PMPML buses, Pad Wise Easy Guide to Periods, a SealPad Smart Packing solution utilizing unplugged computing, a sign language translator, and a program aimed at Protecting Phones from Scams. Notably, a scalable business plan for a village garage by ZP school students drew attention.

The spotlight was on 6th and 7th-grade students, who engaged the audience with a skit exploring the intricate relationship between Artificial Intelligence and humanity. A student-led panel discussion delved into the role of future skills in our lives, featuring insights from women CSR leaders.

In recognition of young talent, 14 students who won the Inspire Manak Award, executed by DST with the National Innovation Foundation, were felicitated at the event. The Makers Factory event also marked the launch of Vision Digital Pune, a collaborative initiative committed to providing 21st-century skills education to every child in the Pune district.

Dr. Manorama Aware expressed gratitude to PMC, PCMC, and PI JAM Foundation for their collaboration and emphasized the significance of the event being “for the students and by the students.” She commended the Makers Factory team for their efforts, praising the young minds for their exceptional initiatives and out-of-the-box thinking.
