Pune’s Registration Revolution: Tenant Software Update on the Horizon

In an effort to address technical issues and streamline the tenant registration process, Pune is gearing up to introduce an updated version of its tenant registration software after Diwali. The new software, version 2.0, aims to expedite application processing, ensure compliance with mandatory timelines, and offer improved user experience and payment options.

A Technological Overhaul

After receiving numerous complaints about the clearance of leave and license documents, Pune’s registration department has decided to overhaul its tenant registration software. Currently, 3,000-4,000 tenant registration applications are submitted daily, necessitating a more efficient and reliable system.

What’s Changing?

The existing software, version 1.90, will be phased out in favor of the new and improved version 2.0. This updated software will not only speed up the application process but also assist sub-registrars in meeting the required two-day timeframe for processing applications.

Phased Implementation

To ensure a smooth transition, the updated software will be initially introduced in two districts before being rolled out statewide. This phased approach will help in identifying and addressing any potential issues before expanding its reach.

User-Friendly and Efficient

Version 2.0 will introduce a user-friendly interface, making it easier for applicants to navigate the registration process. Furthermore, it will offer payment options through the pay2igr system, enhancing the convenience for all parties involved.

QR Codes for Verification

One notable feature of the new software is the incorporation of QR codes on registered documents. These QR codes will facilitate easy verification of essential details such as property number, owner’s name, tenant information, and application date. This ensures accuracy and transparency in the registration process.

Resuming Online Police Verification

The updated software will also integrate with the CCTNS police network, enabling the resumption of online police verification. This integration is expected to further streamline the tenant registration process and enhance security measures.

Improving the Tenant Experience

The upcoming upgrade of the tenant registration software in Pune is set to transform the experience for landlords, tenants, and authorities alike. With a more efficient and user-friendly system, Pune is committed to ensuring that the application process runs smoothly and is completed within the required timeframe.
