Pune’s Pimpri Chinchwad to Benefit from Two New Substations as MSEDCL Proposal Gets Approval

In response to the burgeoning electricity demand in the Pimpri Chinchwad area and the need to expand its infrastructure, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL) has greenlit the establishment of two new substations. These substations, boasting a 220 kV capacity, are set to significantly enhance utilities and services in Bhosari, Chinchwad MIDC, and the surrounding regions.

The responsibility for the installation of these new substations in Pimpri Chinchwad will fall under the purview of the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL), according to official statements. The introduction of these substations is anticipated to alleviate the load on existing substations, as a portion of consumers will be migrated to the new facilities. Consequently, residents are less likely to experience power outages in the area.

Furthermore, MSEDCL has granted approval for the expansion of an already-established substation in Pimpri Chinchwad. This expansion is slated to augment power supply by an additional 100 MVA (Mega Volt-Amps).

The far-reaching implications of this decision are expected to positively affect approximately 20 villages surrounding Pimpri Chinchwad. Improved facilities will translate into a reduction in power outage occurrences, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for local residents, as per official reports.
