Pune’s New Year Bonanza: NHAI Tenders Bring ₹23,392 Crore Infusion into Infrastructure

In a major boost to the infrastructural landscape of Pune, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has rolled out tenders for three significant road projects, amounting to a total investment of ₹23,392 crores. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s consistent efforts and collaboration have paved the way for these transformative projects set to enhance connectivity and spur economic growth in the region.

Projects Overview:

  1. Pune – Shirur (NH 753F):
    • 6-lane elevated corridor with provisions for metro.
    • Length: 56 km
    • Estimated Cost: ₹9,123 Crore
    • Strategic boost for manufacturing hubs of Wagholi, Sanaswadi, Shikrapur, Ranjangaon.
  2. Nashik Phata, PCMC – Khed/Rajgurunagar (NH 60):
    • Upgradation of existing road to 4/6 lanes, with a 2-lane service road on both sides.
    • 8-lane elevated corridor.
    • Length: 30 km
    • Estimated Cost: ₹7,832 Crore
    • Critical for traffic decongestion on Pune Nashik highway, benefiting industrial zones.
  3. Talegaon – Chakan – Shikrapur (NH 548D):
    • Upgradation of existing 2-lane road to a 4-lane road at grade, with a 4-lane elevated corridor.
    • Length: 54 km
    • Estimated Cost: ₹6,437 Crore
    • Aimed at decongesting Talegaon Chakan MIDC.
