The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) achieved a significant milestone by generating more than Rs 2 Crores in revenue on a single day, specifically on November 20th. This accomplishment reflects the robust performance of PMPML’s bus services, marking it as the lifeline of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad cities.
With the conclusion of the Diwali holiday, a surge in passengers returning to Pune from various destinations has been observed. To ensure the convenience of these travelers, the Chairman & Managing Director of PMPML issued directives to provide safe, high-quality, and prompt bus services.
Given the concerns of traffic congestion and pollution, PMPML has strategically increased the deployment of eco-friendly smart AC electric buses and CNG buses in its fleet. On November 20, 2023, a total of 1698 buses were operational in the city, with additional buses allocated to high-revenue routes, resulting in a remarkable revenue of Rs 2,06,31,945 for the day.
This achievement underscores the affordability, safety, and reliability of PMPML’s bus services, catering to a diverse range of passengers, including laborers, workers, employees, senior citizens, and women. The reopening of schools and colleges in the city at full capacity has also contributed to a notable increase in daily ridership, emphasizing the trust placed by students in PMPML’s services.
