PUNE: A youth recorded a video of his girlfriend while she was bathing, when they were in a relationship. After the break-up, he created a fake Instagram account and uploaded the video and defamed her. The Sahakar Nagar police have registered a case against the youth based in Ahmed Nagar for making the video viral and molesting her. The incident took place from February 2022 to January 17, 2024 at 10.15 pm at Dhankawadi.
A 21-year-old girl staying in Balaji Nagar at Dhankawadi lodged a complaint on Thursday at the Sahakar Nagar police station. A case has been registered against Junaid Shakil Momin (21), a resident of Sakur, Sangamner taluka, Ahmed Nagar district under section 354 of the IPC. The accused has not been arrested so far.
According to the police, the complainant and the accused were in a relationship. They used to talk with each other via video calls. Meanwhile, the accused asked the victim to make a video call to him while she was taking a bath. He recorded the video. Later, the victim had a break up with the accused. He created a fake Instagram account of the victim and uploaded the video of the girl taking bath on Instagram and molested her. After the victim came to know about this, she approached the Sahakar Nagar police station and lodged a complaint against the accused. PI (crime) Sandip Deshmane is carrying out further investigation.
