Pune: Youth tries to kill woman and her daughter with axe in bharti vidyapeeth police station limits

PUNE: A shocking incident has come to light wherein a youth tried to kill a woman and her daughter with an axe over previous enmity, despite being their relative.

Reshma Prembabu Valmiki (35) and her daughter (18), a resident of Katraj, have been seriously injured. The Bharati Vidyapeeth police have registered an FIR of attempt to murder against Premkumar Naria, a resident of Kondhwa. The incident took place on Saturday at 8 pm.

According to the police, the Valmiki family stays in Katraj since many years. Prembabu works in a private hospital as a ward boy. One of their relatives Premkumar Naria came to their house over previous enmity. The woman and her daughter were at home. The complainant had opposed their marriage. Since he was angry, Premkumar started assaulting the girl with an axe. She stopped the first blow but the second one landed on her head. Her mother rushed to help her but she was also assaulted on her head, hands and legs.

Neighbours came to help after hearing their cries but after seeing the axe, no one came forward. Since a crowd had gathered, the accused disappeared. Both of them were admitted to a hospital and are undergoing treatment. API Tawde is probing the case.
