Pune: Youth drowns in backwaters of Bhatghar dam

PUNE: A shocking incident has been reported from Bhor taluka. Many people prefer to visit the lakes and backwaters of dams on the weekend. However, some accidents also take place. A youth from a group of four who had come for a picnic near the backwaters of Bhatghar dam at Narhe drowned. The incident has created a flutter.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Aditya Ashok Kedare (24), a resident of Hadapsar. Since he had drowned, a search had been launched to locate him. However, his body was found in the evening. A group of four had come for a picnic. According to the police, two boys and two girls from Hadapsar had gone to Narhe at the backwater of Bhatghar dam in Bhor taluka.

The girls could not resist the temptation of swimming. Hence, two of them entered the water. Aditya could not gauge the depth of water and drowned, according to preliminary reports. The Rajgad police were informed. The police arrived at the spot and called the Bhoiraj water rescue team. The team searched for the youth and found him later. The Rajgad police are probing the case.
