Pune Woman Farmer Seeks Government Grant for Helicopter to Access Farm Due to Lack of Road

Pune, 24th July 2023: In an unusual and desperate move, a woman farmer from Shirur Taluka has sought a government grant to purchase a helicopter. Latabai Bhaskar Hinge, residing in Nimone, Shirur, made this request citing the absence of proper road access to her farm and the failure of concerned officials to visit her site despite receiving an official order.

Latabai had previously submitted an application to the authorities, urging them to construct a road to her farm for ease of transportation and accessibility. However, despite immediate orders from the Tehsildar to conduct a site inspection, the relevant department officials neglected to visit the location, causing significant delays in resolving the matter.

Efforts to meet with the concerned officials to discuss the issue and expedite the site visit proved futile for Latabai. Despite multiple attempts, she was unable to secure a meeting with the officials, who kept providing excuses to evade visiting her farm.

The lack of a proper road to her farm posed numerous challenges for Latabai, particularly during the harvesting season when transporting crops to the main road became an arduous task. The absence of official intervention further compounded her difficulties.

Faced with no viable solution, Latabai felt compelled to explore unconventional alternatives and came up with the idea of purchasing a helicopter to facilitate the transportation of her farm produce. In her quest for support, she applied for a government grant or assistance to acquire a helicopter from the Tehsildar’s office in Shirur.
