Pune Woman Faces FIR for Alleged Physical Abuse of Minor: Police Launch Investigation

Pune, August 21, 2023 – In a distressing incident, an FIR has been lodged against a woman in Kondhwa, Pune, on charges of subjecting a minor to forceful physical relations and coercion. The accused reportedly threatened the minor with false police allegations if he did not comply with her demands.

According to the statement provided by Santosh Sonawane, Senior Police Inspector at Kondhwa Police Station, the case unraveled on August 20. Allegations suggest that over a period spanning from May 1, 2021, to November 2022, the minor boy’s neighbor, who has been identified as Soni (pseudonym used), allegedly imposed coercive sexual relations on him against his will. The situation escalated further when she reportedly compelled him to record a video of their intimate encounters. To ensure his compliance, Kothari purportedly resorted to threats of lodging a police complaint against him.

The victim endured this torment on multiple occasions, as indicated by the boy’s legal complaint against the accused. Subsequently, an official case has been registered against Soni under Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which deals with criminal intimidation, and Sections 3, 4, 5 (N), 5 (L), and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO).
