Pune: Winter onset in the city, minimum temperature dips to 14.5 deg C

Pune: The minimum temperature recorded in the city for the past three days was below normal as cold weather conditions prevail. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 14.5 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

The IMD has predicted partly cloudy sky and early morning fog for the next three days. This may result in a rise in the minimum temperature.

Rainfall likely today

The met office has predicted sporadic rainfall as the cold weather conditions prevail in the State. Rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely to occur in Satara, Kolhapur and Sindhudurg districts. Minimum temperatures would further drop in the rest of Maharashtra.

The lowest minimum temperature in the State was reported in Jalgaon at 11.6 degrees Celsius. The city has been recording the lowest minimum temperature in the State for the past two-three days. The cold weather conditions are increasing in the State while maximum temperatures are also dipping.

This has lessened the impact of ‘October heat’. Maximum temperatures have dropped below 34 degrees Celsius in most parts of the State, barring Konkan. Now, sporadic rainfall has been forecast in Konkan and south-central Maharashtra.
