Pune: “Why Should My Daughter Face This?” Mother Grieves Ashwini Costa’s Death

Ashwini Costa

Pune: “Ashwini spoke to me on Saturday night. She had booked a ticket to Jabalpur on June 18. As it was her father’s birthday, she wanted to give him a surprise. But now, it is no longer a surprise. God took her from us before that,” said the mother of deceased Ashwini Costa, who was killed in the tragic car accident in the Kalyaninagar area two days ago.

She also asked why her daughter should face the punishment of someone else’s mistake. She was talking to reporters on Tuesday when Ashwini’s cadaver was brought to the mortuary of the Sassoon Hospital in an ambulance. At that time, she could not control her emotions and was crying loudly.

Two people who were killed in the car accident in the Kalyaninagar area have been identified as Ashwini Costa and Aneesh Awadhiya. According to the information, both were original residents of Madhya Pradesh. Ashwini, who hails from Jabalpur, had completed her education in computer science at Wadia College, whereas Aneesh had studied computer science at D.Y. Patil College, Pune. Both were working for the Johnson Control Company, and both were acquainted with each other through the company.

Ashwini’s brother, Samprit Costa, said that it is all shocking to him and his family. He said that he never imagined that Saturday’s phone call would be his last call with his sister. Paras Soni, the cousin of Aneesh Awadhiya, said that they got a call in the early morning about Aneesh’s accident. As Aneesh’s parents are older and there is no one to take care of them, he said that they were not immediately informed about Anish’s tragic demise.
